HISTORY AND ARCHIVES COMMITTEE

The History and Archives Committee was officially constituted in 1974. The first report stated: One of our first actions was to institute an oral history project concerning the history of the American Baptist Association utilizing Dr. A. T. Powers and Dr. C. N. Glover, two men who were present at the organization of our national work in 1924 and who have been active in it ever since. Early in our deliberation, we resolved to encourage formation of History and Archives Committees in each of our state and regional associations.
